Abstract:
Lecture/workshop on incorporating communication skills training into health professions curriculum with emphasis on the development and implementation of an ethnogeriatric objective structured clinical experience (OSCE).
Educational objectives:
1. Express the role of verbal and non-verbal communication skills in the patient encounter
2. Adopt new tools for teaching and assessing communication skills with health professions students
3. Devise an action plan for one strategy to promote training of culturally and linguistically competent health care professionals
