In this 15 minute video/podcast, John Burton, MD, Mason F. Lord Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, Visiting Professor at the University of Arizona Medical Student's Conference on Aging for Specialists, places the emerging field of geriatrics in its historical context, and emphasizes the importance of sound care of the older adult for all physicians-- those entering primary care specialties, as well surgery and related medical specialties.
