Assessment Materials A Sample of the New Products on POGOe:
"We are thinking of trying this with our M2s Pharm course. We are thinking it will do all the educational objectives just at a more basic level. This would be part of a TBL which would give the students an opportunity to discuss compliance issues. We are wondering about assigning students simulation identities, i.e., 37 year old, woman, triathlete, so that they would have to think about what compliance issues the patient might have. Any ideas on how to make this an effective activity?" (Treatment by Tic Tac #20784) New in ReCAP (Repository of Electronic Critically Appraised Papers):
CSWE Gero-Ed Center – The Council on Social Work Education Gero-Ed Center (National Center for Gerontological Social Work Education) provides social work faculty, students, and practitioners with a valuable online resource for achieving gerontological competence. Funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation, the goal of this program is to promote the use of competency-based education in social work programs nationwide. From 2007-2009, the Gero Innovations Grant was awarded to 14 MSW programs to develop, implement, and evaluate different methods to infuse gerontological competencies into classes and related field opportunities for each of three specialty areas – mental health, substance use and health. The materials created through that grant have been made available on the Center's website. The resources are available in a variety of different formats from Powerpoint presentations and videos to text documents. You can browse the collection by subject area or institution, or you can search for a specific keyword.
