Geriatrics Educational Products Inventory

The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation (DWRF) encourages collaboration among its current and potential grantees so that their work continuously expands the scope of resources available to train physicians in providing care for older adults. This Inventory was created to assist those interested in developing geriatrics education projects. Originally designed as a guide for new Reynolds Foundation grant applicants so they can identify gaps in the catalogue and craft their proposals accordingly, it has become a resource for schools interested in teaching geriatrics, as well as a great starting point for authors to build on prior projects instead of duplicating pre-existing resources.

This document lists educational products created by the 30 DWRF grantee schools.
There are two categories of educational materials listed:

1. All materials posted on POGOe. These are either:
   • created by DWRF grantees, or
   • created by non-DWRF grantees.
2. Materials created by DWRF grantees that are not posted on POGOe.

Approximately a quarter of the products in the Inventory have been matched with specific Geriatric Competencies for Graduating Medical Students. These competencies are designed to insure competent care of older patients by new interns. A complete list of the Minimum Geriatric Competencies, as well as a narrative on how these competencies were derived, is available at www.pogoe.org/Minimum_Geriatric_Competencies.

We encourage fair use of this document, as the information it contains is proprietary to the authors and their institutions. At the same time, we invite you to use this document to inform your own choice about which geriatric educational products you will develop in the future. We hope this serves to help focus your work on areas where the need for educational materials is greatest.
